Free Parking For Christmas Shoppers In Sowerby Bridge
Calderdale Council is offering late night shoppers across Calderdale free parking in the run up to Christmas. The Council are supporting local shops during the run up to Christmas by ensuring all pay and display parking bays are free of charge after 3.00 pm on late night shopping days.
Councillor Amanda Byrne, Cabinet Member for the Economy and Environment said:
“It is important that we try and do all we can to help residents shop locally and bring economic and social benefits to the area.
Schemes such as free parking and the free bus service in Halifax are practical steps we can take to support residents and local shops through the current economic downturn.”
The main towns in Calderdale have the following arrangements in place:
Halifax – from Thursday 26 November and every Thursday in the run up to Christmas all pay and display bays are free from 3.00 pm. In addition there are four free car parks for Saturday shoppers at Mulcture Hall Road, Victoria Street, Cross Hills and High Street.
Brighouse – from Thursday 26 November and Friday 27 November and every Thursday and Friday in the run up to Christmas all pay and display bays free from 3.00 pm.
Hebden Bridge – from Thursday 26 November and every Thursday in the run up to Christmas all pay and display bays free from 3.00 pm.
Elland – late night shopping in Elland takes place on Thursday 10 and 17 December and Friday 11 and 18 December when all pay and display car parks will be free after 3.00 pm
Todmorden – Bramsche Square, School Lane and Halifax Road car parks are free every Saturday from 21 November until Christmas and free all day on the 22 and 23 December.
Sowerby Bridge – late night shopping in Sowerby Bridge will take place on Wednesday 9 and 16 December when all pay and display car parks will be free after 3.00 pm.
