The Poetry School is coming to the Calder Valley for the first time with a brand new poetry course. The Poetry School is a national organisation which teaches adults the art of writing poetry through a huge range of courses, workshops, talks and events all round the country and online.

The late poet laureate Ted Hughes would have been 80 this month and to mark the occasion a ground-breaking new drama has been made about his Yorkshire childhood. Recorded entirely on location at his former house in Heptonstall, near Hebden Bridge, it is based loosely on a true story.
Input Sought On Council Budget Priorities
Calderdale Council is asking people how they would like spending to be prioritised at public meetings across the borough next month. Everyone is welcome to their local Ward Forum, when people will be asked to identify which services they would like to keep, reduce or lose under new Government funding cuts.
